Mari Winsor Slimming Pilates

The Pilates Accelerator

Mari Winsor, the woman who introduced the United States to Winsor Pilates two decades ago, is back with a new Pilates workout system called Winsor Slimming Pilates, which incorporates the use of an inexpensive alternative to bulky Pilates machines called the Accelerator.

The Slimming Pilates system itself seems to rely heavily on the “Seamless Transitioning” concept, which looks to me like it incorporates some yoga fundamentals. The idea is that you’re not resting between exercises and positions, but are rather transitioning seamlessly from one position to the next. It gives you a better workout faster and the muscles used in during transitions are often those that don’t get a very good workout from standard positions.

OK, so you get several DVDs, a position chart, weight loss plan, diet book with recipes… the usual. But the two things this infomercial product offers that make it worth the price are membership to the club with access to Mari Winsor herself and, especially, the Slimming Pilates Accelerator.

The Accelerator doesn’t look like much at first, but it’s really a portable, inexpensive version of bulky, costly machines like the Pilates Reformer and Cadillac. I always thought that these medieval-looking devices were purposefully and overly complicated to justify the cost – and the Accelerator proves that point.

You can read more about Mari Winsor, the Slimming Pilates system and the Accelerator over at www.WinsorSlim.com .

I turned 60 last week, I have 2 children, 4 grandchildren and I have to honestly say all I have ever done is complain about my bulges and my abs. I have never dieted or tried to loose weight. I saw this on TV yesterday and it looks like something I can do with my bad knee. I am ordering today. Once I get it I will let you know how it works for me. My oldest grandchild graduates in May and I am hoping to surprise her with my new body.

Please let us know how it works out. I had triplets 4 years ago and just cannot get back my shape. I saw the commercial and thought I might give it a try. Other fads have not worked out for me.

I needed an exercise program that I can do with a bad knee. Even though I am on crutches and unable to walk, I can do this program without a lot of discomfort. I am glad I have found a way to get some exercise pre surgery and after. It is encouraging after being so limited physically. The bands support my movements and make it easier to perform each exercise correctly. That makes the workout more effective and encourages me to keep going.

This is such a wonderful tool!! I’ve been using it for the past 3 weeks and can see a major difference in my body. You can feel your body becoming stronger & more toned within a matter of days if you stay consistent with the workouts. Everyone should buy this!!

I just ordered this today. I had triplets in January 2009 and although I lost all my weight weeks after the pregnancy I still have a lot of flab and am hoping this works! Please let me know if anyone has had success.

Hi Toni, fellow triplet Mom!

I have heard a lot about pilates but has never gotten around to trying it. Actually, I was a bit overwhelmed by the bulkiness of the equipment. This one, however, is sleek and far more portable. I’m pretty sure I would no longer be deterred from trying it out.

Hi
I am interested in trying out Mary Winsor Slimming Pilates- few queries though-
1.Is there adequate instruction/modified version for beginners?
2.Like some of you guys, I have knee problems too- hence cannot do usual aerobic/high impact workouts. Is it intense on the knees, specially the Cardio moves?
thanks a lot

I ordered the new Slimming Pilates and the customer service was awful, and the shipping time took forever. When I finally got to try my new Pilates, I wasn’t even close to impressed. Nothing worked, I have Mari Winsor Pilates discs I previously got as a gift and those work better. I’m doing the exercises correctly and I don’t feel anything!!! I barely sweat! I’m sending back everything tomorrow!!! Extremely disappointed, if you’re not sure, don’t make the jump for this Pilates set. Other sites reviews say they were sweating and couldn’t even get up to turn off the DVD player when finished working out, but I got up after the 20 minutes and felt nothing worked out or even sore.

I used to religously workout to Mari’s original pilates videos, for 2 years consistently. I was extremely toned and in shape, and in the best shape of my life at that time. I even looked taller. I recently had two baby girls and am completely out of shape. I ordered Mari’s Slimming pilates and just started 3 days ago, I already feel a difference. I swear by Mari’s pilates, she is EXTREMELY thorough in explaining all of her workouts so if your a beginner or out of shape it’s very easy to follow. I can already feel that I’m starting to get back into shape.

I did Mari Winsors original videos consistently before I had my 2nd baby and I can honestly say I was in the best shape ever! I have been a slacker and ordered her new slimming pilates and am looking forward to starting again. I can’t even begin to tell you how awesome and amazing I felt while I was doing it. I was very toned and I can’t give enough praise on what it did to my butt;) You can achieve amazing results if you are consistent in keeping up with it. I only did it 4x’s a week, 20min. a day, pretty feasible when you have children.

I just tried my new pilates video for the first time, and unfortunatley I was a little unhappy beause many of the moves require you to hold the bar under your legs, with your legs in the air, while lying down, which sounds great and all, but when you are short like i am, i cannot reach the bar when it is under my legs while lying down…

Some DVD demonstration videos are helpful in maintaining certain figure. By this slimming pilates exercises would be very accessible to do. This version is much cheaper and handy to have with.

May I direct everybody’s attention to the fine print at the bottom of the screen. It mentions that the participants followed a 12 weeks exercise program along with a diet plan.
