I’m Getting Irked About The Lowercase SERP Text

Regarding the screenshot below, the good news is that we rank #3 on Yahoo out of 32-million other highly-optimized website for the phrase Rank a Website. The bad news is that our title has been lower-cased by Yahoo. For background on this phenomenon, check out this post about Google doing the same thing.

What is going on here? I was at PubCon the first time the SEO community took notice of this, I’ve read the forums, heard all of the theories, and have yet to find a definitive answer.

Do you know? What are your own theories on this phenomenon of certain Yahoo - and Google - web pages showing lower-case titles on the search engine result pages?
