Intro to Health and Fitness Affiliate Marketing

An Introduction to Affiliate Marketing for Health and Fitness Businesses

We generally have two types of readers. The first type includes online marketers, SEO professionals and others in our industry. The second type of reader is generally a health and fitness business owner, or someone who is in charge of online sales for a health and fitness website. This blog entry was written for the latter.

If you have a health or fitness-related product or service to sell online, why not let other websites do the work for you? Did you know there are thousands of highly motivated, experienced webmasters out there who specialize in marketing other companies’ products and services online?

In the world of affiliate marketing, these “middle-men” are known as affiliates. Their job is to send qualified traffic to a merchant’s website. You, as a merchant, never pay for this traffic unless it converts into a sale. At that point, you pay out to the affiliate a commission, usually from 8%-12% of the total sale.

The beauty of this arrangement is that you can pre-calculate the ROI for a transaction after all associated costs before coming up with an appropriate commission. It is as close as you can get in the marketing world to a “guaranteed” positive return on investment.

Affiliates enjoy the fact that they can make money online without carrying products, dealing with customers, negotiating with drop shippers and fulfillment houses, or any other “hassle” that comes along with selling products or services online. They simply bring in the traffic through online marketing channels like SEO and PPC, and send them to your website.

A good affiliate will have the kind of copy that “pre-sells” a potential customer. By the time they reach your healthcare, health or fitness website they are primed and ready to convert.

FPF Seeks Offline Fitness Marketing Partner

The First Page Fitness advantage is our ability to get websites ranked at the top of search engine result pages for heavy-duty terms that can bring in traffic for your healthcare or fitness business. In fact, we are so good at this that it has created a problem for us.

Search for terms like Fitness Marketing, Fitness Marketing Company, Fitness Marketing Companies on search engines like Google and MSN. Listing in the first few spots out of tens of millions of other pages is great, but the problem is that most of the traffic we receive from these terms is not looking for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). They want more “traditional” online and offline marketing services.

So if you own a fitness marketing company, drop us an email. We would like to discuss how First Page Fitness, LLC and your company can work together to meet the needs of these visitors. All proposals from professional, serious firms with a good track record will be considered.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Everett Sizemore
Director of Search Marketing

Five Things You Didn’t Know About Everett Sizemore

…now that I have crawled out from under my rock. Actually, I have been in Cincinnati visiting family since Thursday. My wife would not allow me to touch a computer.

Inernet marketeeeers are known for being pranksters in many ways. Do a search for “failure” on Google and the first result (Whitehouse) will attest to this, as will Hatbait, and SEO Fangirl’s Men of SEO blog. That’s not to mention all of the fun SEO contests that go on throughout the year.

The most recent little game being played is a form of tag in which the person who is tagged has to reveal five things that the Internet marketing community - and his/her clients, ostensibly :( - didn’t know about them. The poor marketeeeer must then pass on the tag to someone else. I was tagged by the Expert of Online Marketing in Hawaii, Mr. Hawaii SEO himself. Keep messing with me Dave, and I’ll have to track down those pictures of you with Dreadlocks in Denver during the mid-90’s! Just kidding. You know we’re mates because you get the keyword stuffed title attribute and anchor text. ;-)

Five Things You Didn’t Know About Everett Sizemore

  1. I never finished the ninth grade, and dropped out of high school at age 16 to become a DJ. But I went on to get academic scholarships and made the Dean’s list every semester while running a business and studying for my Bachelor of Journalism at Bond University in Australia. I also finished college a year early because I went year-round. Not bad for a high school dropout.
  2. I was stabbed in the right arm by two of my ‘friends’ when I was 14 years old. it left a bad scar, which I covered with a tattoo when I was 16 years old. This would start a lifelong love of tattoos.
  3. I’m a mamma’s boy. I was raised by a single mom who worked two jobs (one in a dilapidated factory) to support me and my two brothers. All of us are alive, have good jobs and have never been to prison. She is my hero.
  4. I used to work with Hawaii SEO at Kinko’s in Honolulu as a graphic designer.
  5. My wife plays roller derby for the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls. Yes, that’s my wife. Yes, I know she’s hot. ;)

Really, I could go on and on and on. There are many layers on this onion. However, for the sake of keeping my clients, these are the only five you’ll get. Now, who do I pass it on to? Let me get out a stack of business cards and randomly pick…

TAG YOUR IT Roger Monttii (aka Martinibuster), Sujan Patel, Byron White, Keith Levenson and Dan Goldstein !
