3 Android Apps to Make You Healthier This Year

You know last week when you were supposed to be working but you were actually wasting two hours of your day tinkering with the last four apps you purchased  or downloaded for your Android? Today’s incarnations of mobile phones are amazing things. From web browsing to media, and even just more advanced or efficient ways to communicate, we can really get caught up in utilizing that technology. In fact, many of us live our lives from our cell phones these days.

But what if you could find a couple of apps that would actually help you to better your health, or even provide you with tips that could save yours or someone else’s life? Surely, those are worth a download, even if they aren’t quite as amusing as the one that allows you to play Farmville on the bus home from work.

Three Best Health Apps for Android in 2011:

First Aid

The First Aid app is an amazing little number that has been used by thousands of people. Providing large, easy to read fonts set in different categories like Poisoning, Difficulty Breathing and Heart Attacks, you can keep this handy little guide with you wherever you go. They provide instructions and illustrations to help you to correctly perform any task, no matter how serious the emergency may be. These directions are extremely easy to understand and use, even in a situation where you may be feeling panicky and having trouble focusing. Which makes it a must have for anyone.

Workout Coach

Maybe it’s not an app for life threatening situations, but for staying healthy, the Workout Coach is a great little app for those who want to get fit or stay fit. It is a simple little exercise monitor, which will log, count and explain the different workouts you do at home or at the gym. It helps you to see how many calories you are burning, and build an effective routine for targeted results. You can also use suggested workouts to create a new plan, or fine tune and add to an old one.

Calorie Counter

Did you know a single blueberry muffin can contain as much as 600 calories in a single one? Some that have added sugar can be as much as 1,200 calories, as they are meant to be eaten in two servings, and not one. Hidden calories or unplanned meals are the most common ways that diets end up being derailed. But you don’t have to let that happen to you. Calorie Counter is a simple app that counts how many calories, carbs, fat grams and more are in what you eat. This will ake it so much easier to burn off those pounds, or keep from gaining any.

These are only a few of the excellent applications that Android users can enjoy to improve their health, or protect their lives. A quick look through the Android Marketplace will provide dozens more. See? You don’t have to waste all of your time on apps that do nothing but provide procrastination. You can do something productive with your skiving off, as well.

Thank you for this article. Funny thing is I am using the calorie counter and absolutely love it. I have to tweak my diet based on carbs and calories so I don’t add too much fat but don’t lose too much muscle. Very tricky. In addition I like the restaurant nutrition guide since I travel a lot. Helps to make solid choices.
